Video hosting that belongs inside WordPress
MediaStream was built to solve a problem every WordPress site owner eventually runs into: video is heavy, bandwidth is expensive, and the native Media Library was never designed to handle streaming at scale.
You have two choices, usually. Upload videos directly to WordPress and watch your server strain under the load, your page speed collapse, and your hosting bill climb. Or offload everything to YouTube or Vimeo and hand over your content, your branding, and your viewer data to a third party that shows ads, recommends competitors, and treats your videos as inventory.
We thought there should be a third option.
What MediaStream does
MediaStream connects your WordPress Media Library directly to BunnyStream, Bunny.net’s video streaming platform. Upload a video the way you always have, whether through the Media Library, through Gutenberg, or through your page builder, and MediaStream quietly handles the rest. The file gets offloaded to Bunny’s global CDN, transcoded for adaptive streaming, and served to your visitors from the edge. Your origin server stays light. Your pages stay fast. Your videos stay yours.
No separate dashboard to learn. No embed codes to copy and paste. No change to the way your editors work. Just the Media Library you already know, with proper video infrastructure behind it.
Who built it
MediaStream is made by BLURR, a white-label WordPress development agency based in Trento, Italy. We build WordPress sites for a living, for our own clients and, more often, for other agencies who need a production partner they can trust. Over the years, we kept hitting the same wall with video: nothing on the market handled it the way we wanted it handled inside WordPress. The plugins that existed were either bloated, abandoned, or tied to platforms we didn’t want to recommend to clients.
So we built the tool we wished existed. MediaStream started as an internal project to solve our own agency problem, and it turned into something we thought other WordPress professionals would want too.
What we believe
Infrastructure should be invisible. Editors shouldn’t need to think about where a video is hosted, and visitors shouldn’t need to wait for it to load. The best tools disappear into the workflow.
Your content should belong to you. No ads on your videos. No algorithm deciding what plays next. No platform between you and your audience.
WordPress deserves good tools. It powers a huge share of the web and it’s where real work gets done. We’re committed to building for it seriously.
